MUSIC LIFTS THE SOUL AND ENHANCES WORSHIP
The choir, with members of both sexes, come from across the Benefice, and exists to support the worship of God and to minister through music the presence of God mainly to the congregations of the Leighs Anglican churches.
We sing a variety of styles of music from Tallis to Taize, from Iona and Lindesfarne to modern choruses. We sing across the denominational spectrum. We rehearse on alternate Wednesday evenings and endeavour to sing at three services each month. We are fairly informal, enjoy singing and rehearsing.

We also understand that in today’s busy world not every member will be able to sing at every service – and so there is a high degree of flexibility from Sunday to Sunday, depending on which members are there.
New singers are always welcome!
We are extremely fortunate to have excellent organists at all our churches who can turn their hands to anything from The Old Rugged cross to Happy Birthday and The Lord of the dance to The National Anthem at a moments bidding.
We also enjoy the musical talents from within the congregations including the clarinet, flute, violin and guitar. Percussion instruments are also used by the children where appropriate and they often sing to the congregation on returning from Sunday School.
Musical events by the choir and musicians and concerts by the Salvation Army Band and Songsters are a regular occurrence in our church life bringing together beautiful sounds played to the glory of God
